When I was growing up in Burlington (late sixties), being a male involved in performing arts was a challenge. The stereotypes and prejudices that prevailed at the time were extremely hurtful and destructive.
Forty years have passed and I've learned from my own children that, although perhaps not quite as bad as it once was, sometimes the stereotypes and prejudices still exist. Studying performing arts as a male requires tremendous courage and dedication.
At Spotlight , you will find boys and men taking class because they love to perform. We salute and support them.
